We Lost our Crew

We Lost our Crew

August 19

No, we didn't throw them overboard!  LOL!
Yesterday, Daniele and Richard took the Maritime bus to Halifax to pick up their car and drive

to Quebec City.  It was a sad moment to say goodbye after three wonderful weeks together.

The reason for leaving ship two weeks early was the sudden health issues of Richard's father in Kitchener.  Richard's two brothers have been handling the situation for more than a week so far.  Of course, Richard and Daniele want to help over there as soon as possible.

Richard and Daniele were such good company.  Daniele was always there to help with meals and cleaning, with ropes when we arrived at marinas.  She always had a positive spin in tricky situations.  She was always ready to play cards and do puzzles.  I loved having my sister with me.  Richard was such a good fun.  He often had a funny comment in any situation.  He kept us laughing.  He was always eager to learn everything about boat handling, maintenance and trip planning.  Even though his stomach was a bit more sensitive than ours, he courageously and silently did everything he could to manage it.  He helped at every opportunity.  What a joy to have him with us!  Richard took so many gorgeous photos.  He's a pro!

In close quarters for many days, the bond that unites us has become stronger.  The four of us now have memories that will last forever.  For this and every day with them, we are deeply grateful.  After they left, we may have gain some empty space in the boat;  but we do feel the empty space in our lives.  Thank you, Daniele and Richard, for sharing this experience with us, for being who you are, such beautiful persons.

Because they still have 2 weeks unused, and because they helped us so much while cruising with us, they accumulated Komeekha Miles.  Until they decide to sail with us again, the interests will increase their Komeekha Miles until we see our next sunset together over the Caribbean Sea.
